First-Year Applicants

If you are still in high school or have not completed any college coursework since graduating from high school, then you are a first-year applicant and we are excited that you are considering Vermont Tech.

Our programs are ideal for ambitious learners who are both practical and visionary - who can envision the future they want and are ready to begin shaping it. If you have any questions, just send an email or give us a call. We are happy to help with the application process.

As a first-year applicant, you need to submit the following items:

  • Completed Vermont Tech Application or Common Application
  • $47 application fee
  • Official high school transcript with at least the first marking period grades of the senior year or official scores from a high school equivalency exam (GED)
  • SAT I , ACT or Accuplacer test results* (for current high school students)
  • Personal Essay (250-500 words; discuss your motivation for pursuing a college degree at Vermont Tech or write about a topic of your choice)

Please note: If you are applying for one of our Healthcare programs, there are a few additional application requirements.

*Accuplacer required for Dental Hygiene, Nursing, and Respiratory Therapy applicants. Current high school students applying to these majors are encouraged to additionally submit SAT I or ACT scores.
